     Paris, Brixton

DIRECTOR:
Jeremy Wooding
STARRING:
Laura Fraser & Ben Miles

A deliberately allusive and imaginative short, Paris, Brixton centres on the romance that blooms between a French student whiling her time away in a Brixton bedsit and an intruder who happens to come through the skylight of her block.

The script, written by Director Jeremy Wooding and former NME editor Neil Spencer, has the right balance of mischief Paris, Brixton and mystery, magic and suspense and the story sets up its two leads as interesting and likeable.

However, it artfully dismantles their relationship and leaves you wondering what lies beneath their charmed surfaces.

Excellent use of locations and resourceful technique by the director and a flirtatious bubbling jazz score by Steve Beresford, keep the atmosphere of urban unease on its own singular course.
